Deforest/Windsor is just minutes north of Madison wedged between Interstate 90/94 and Highway 51. It’s built around an elaborate park and trails system. The Yahara River guides the Upper Yahara River Trail that runs side-by-side and presents a natural rural backdrop throughout. The trail has a starting point and parking lot off Windsor Rd near Sunfish Pond. The neighborhoods are built around an elaborate park system. Fireman's Park sits right in the middle of it all and hosts many celebrations including their spectacular 4th of July Firework show. Join in on the family fun with a walk in the parade, view the car show, listen to live music or cool down with a beverage in the beer tent. Windsor version of Fireman’s Park hosts many youth baseball/softball games including batting cages and is the location for WindsorFest. Conservancy Commons Park and Cradle Hill Park are a favorite of kids with a splash pad, playground and shelter. Linde Fields Sports Complex is the home of Norski Soccer Club and Norski Lacrosse Club with several playing fields, a shelter and playground equipment. Deforest Area School District has a great reputation. DMB Community Bank Stadium is the home of many Deforest High School sports and is currently in the process of raising money for field turf. GRB a baseball academy built a 26,000 sq ft indoor training facility in Windsor in 2017. Maybe bowling is your thing……..check out Rude’s Lanes. The Deforest Area Public Library serves all the local communities and has a good reputation. The Pine Cone Restaurant is an iconic truck stop restaurant. Grab a burger at the Rodeside Grill, root beer at the AW, smoked food at North and South Seafood and Smokehouse, a beer at BB Jacks or sit down for breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Deforest Family Restaurant.
