Home maintenance is a must! Each season also welcomes a new level of prioritization to the maintenance schedule. September is the end of summer and the start of fall so some of the maintenance needs are related in preparation of the colder weather.
September Home Maintenance Checklist
Check Range Hood Fan
Dirty fan and filter is dangerous. Ensure it is functional to avoid hazards in the kitchen and improve your home’s air quality.
Care For Trees and Shrubs
Decay can invite insects and disease. So the need for trimming, pruning and spraying your trees and shrubs will help prevent future issues.
Inspect Weather Stripping
Keep the cold out by making sure your weather stripping is in place and not worn. Replace any worn stripping that leaves gaps, or allows wind to whistle through.
Tune Up Furnace
Call a professional for an annual clean and check between seasons. A clean and check should cost around $150 or less. Don’t wait for the winter to check your heating system.
