McFarland is connected to Madison's Eastside and on the shores of Lake Waubesa & Lake Kegonsa. There you'll find McDaniel Park featuring a shelter, play structure, drinking fountain, volleyball court, and beach. The pier at McDaniel Park is open to the public during regular park hours.The McFarland Parks system has about sixty-six acres of active and accessible passive park facilities, ranging from larger community parks like William McFarland Park, boat launch and campground at Babcock County Park and neighborhood parks like Legion Park.
McFarland Family Festival offers entertainment that is geared toward all ages with live music, car show, parade and triathlon. Love history, McFarland Historical Museum and Log Cabin are open to the public during the summer. Or sports more your thing, enjoy curling at Madison Curling Club, hockey at McFarland Community Ice Area, bowling at Spartan Bowl or stop at William McFarland Park for Bocce Courts, Skate Park or the Soccer Park. Take your dog to the McFarland Dog Park located in the John Urso Community Park.
The McFarland School District just completed a renovation that includes a baseball complex, auditorium, track, aquatic pool and turf football field.
McFarland Chamber of Commerce leads a strong business community with all types of big and small businesses. Enjoy the food scene at Green Lantern, Maple Tree Supper Club and Tobys Supper Club.
