It should come as no surprise to Madison-area residents that National Geographic recently named Madison as one of the top 10 happiest cities in the WORLD! Madison was one of the few cities listed to be located in an area where winter weather is predominant. However, as the article points out, we find plenty to do year round here! From ice fishing to watching UW Badgers or Madison Capitols hockey to cross-country skiing in one of our many parks to enjoying special seasonal festivals and concert events throughout Madison and surrounding cities, we have plenty to entertain us through the cold weather. And of course when the weather's warmer we enjoy boating, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing, and swimming in our lakes; hiking through our parks; visiting our botanical gardens; and much more. Plus as we've mentioned in a previous blog, Madison has consistently been named one of the best cities for foodies, with our plethora of fantastic restaurants and events like restaurant week (twice a year!). Madison and the surrounding areas are a fantastic place for fun, food, and families!
