Affordable Housing Initiative in Madison, WI: Twin Homes Built to Address Growing Housing Crisis

In addition, approximately $600,000 from the city's affordable housing fund was allocated to help cover construction costs for the twin homes. One of the new homeowners, a lifelong Madison resident, recently moved into one of the twin homes with her daughter. Like many buyers in today’s market, she previously believed homeownership in Madison might be out of reach due to rising prices and down payment requirements. However, through this affordable housing program, she was able to purchase a two-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bath twin home measuring approximately 1,200 square feet for about $240,000.
